Construction Bookkeeper – Drive Financial Integrity for Residential & Land Development Builds

The Opportunity
You will take ownership of daily financial operations, managing essential bookkeeping functions with high autonomy and precision. This position allows you to work alongside executive leadership, ensuring accurate job costing across multiple entities while driving key accounting processes for our growing residential communities.
How You Will Make an Impact
- Perform end-to-end accounts payable and receivable operations to ensure accurate vendor disbursements and timely home sales collections.
- Execute daily General Ledger entries, adjustments, and journal records in compliance with standard GAAP guidelines.
- Reconcile monthly bank accounts and process weekly invoices across multiple operating entities.
- Print vendor and subcontractor checks directly from QuickBooks while maintaining pristine audit trails.
- Generate routine financial reports to provide company leadership with actionable cost transparency.
- Collaborate with the external CPA during the preparation and filing of annual federal tax returns.
- Assist with essential office administration workflows when accounting tasks are completed.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Associate Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or 3+ years of equivalent practical experience.
- Solid understanding of AP and AR practices with proven bookkeeping experience in the residential construction industry.
- Demonstrated proficiency in calculating, posting, and managing complex accounting data and financial records.
- Proven data entry capability delivering high accuracy and meticulous attention to detail.
- Hands-on expertise using MS Excel spreadsheets and Intuit QuickBooks.
- Demonstrated ability to operate with minimal supervision while meeting strict deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- Working knowledge of Hyphen Solutions Brix software.
- Familiarity with land development accounting procedures and multi-entity construction job costing.
- Foundational leadership skills with an interest in expanding operational responsibilities.
