CNC Lathe Machinist - Day Shift | Cedar Park, TX
A well-established manufacturing company in Cedar Park is looking for an experienced CNC Lathe Machinist to join their team on a temporary day shift assignment. This is a great opportunity for a skilled machinist who enjoys setup work, precision parts, and a shop environment where quality matters.
This role is best suited for someone who can take ownership of their machine, manage multiple setups, read prints confidently, and produce quality work without constant supervision.
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour, depending on experience Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM-2:30 PM Overtime: Available as needed Location: Cedar Park, TX
What You'll Be Doing
Set up and operate CNC lathes to produce precision parts.
Work with CNC lathe equipment such as Mazak, Okuma, or similar machines.
Perform multiple setups throughout the day in a high-mix, low-volume shop.
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, job orders, and specifications.
Set offsets, prove programs, make basic edits, and monitor machine performance.
Perform first article inspections and check parts throughout the run.
Use calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
Deburr finished parts and verify parts meet quality standards.
Identify issues early and communicate clearly when something is out of spec.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
What We're Looking For
3+ years of CNC lathe machining experience.
High school diploma or GED required.
Strong CNC setup and operation experience.
Ability to read blueprints and inspect your own parts.
Comfortable working independently and taking ownership of your setup.
Strong attention to detail and quality.
Experience with Mazak preferred.
ROMI experience is a plus.
Multi-axis CNC lathe experience is a plus.
Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check.
