Printing Equipment Demonstrator Location : Wood Dale/Bensenville area (on-site 5 days)
Hours: 7am-4pm
Salary : $85k-$90k max based on experience + quarterly bonuses (averaging $10k/yr)

This position supports the sales organization by preparing customer files, producing print samples, operating digital printing equipment, troubleshooting technical issues, and demonstrating equipment capabilities to prospective customers. The role sits at the intersection of pre-press, print production, customer-facing demonstrations, and technical problem-solving. Our client is seeking a hands-on, technically curious professional who enjoys both the operational side of printing and interacting directly with customers. While prior printing industry experience is valuable, this role could be good for candidates from adjacent technical, manufacturing, pre-press, graphics, or print-related environments.
Key Responsibilities Pre-Press & File Preparation - Prepare customer files for output on proprietary digital printing equipment.
- Perform color management and spot color adjustments.
- Ensure files are print-ready and optimized for production.
- Work with customer-provided artwork and troubleshooting file-related issues.
- Utilize proprietary workflow and file management software.
Print Production & Equipment Operation - Operate high-end inkjet printing equipment.
- Load media and substrates.
- Print customer samples used during the sales process.
- Conduct quality control and inspect output.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
- Escalate technical issues to service or engineering teams when necessary.
Product Testing & Technical Support - Participate in testing of new software releases, print technologies, inks, and substrates.
- Partner with engineering, service technicians, and product development teams.
- Help identify and troubleshoot customer-reported issues.
- Conduct performance testing and provide feedback to development teams.
- Support trials with paper and substrate manufacturers.
Customer Demonstrations - Host customers onsite and conduct product demonstrations.
- Run customer files through company equipment.
- Explain capabilities, applications, and production workflows.
- Serve as a technical resource throughout the sales cycle.
Trade Show & Customer Support Activities - Support major industry trade shows and events.
- Occasionally travel to customer sites when specialized testing or demonstrations are required.
- Collaborate with long-term customers on product evaluations and benchmarking activities.
Preferred Experience - Pre-press production experience.
- Digital print, commercial print, or label printing experience.
- Print operator experience.
- Experience with Heidelberg, Kodak, GMG, HP Indigo, or similar print production environments.
- Experience working with color management workflows.
- Knowledge of file preparation and print-ready artwork.
Preferred Software & Technical Skills - Adobe Illustrator

- Adobe Creative Suite
- Digital print workflow software
- Color management systems
- Print production technologies
Nice to Have - Knowledge of print RIPs and workflow systems
- Experience with digital presses and finishing equipment
- Understanding of substrates, paper, labels, vinyls, and specialty media
Pay Details: $55,000.00 to $90,000.00 per year
