Position Title: Junior Financial Analyst Location: Tysons Corner, VA Employment Type: Full-Time Department: Finance
Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Junior Financial Analyst to support financial reporting, data analysis, budgeting activities, and business decision-making processes. The ideal candidate will possess strong Excel skills, a solid understanding of financial concepts, and the ability to organize and analyze data accurately. This role provides an excellent opportunity for recent graduates or early-career professionals looking to develop their corporate finance and financial analysis expertise.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in preparing financial reports, management reports, and business performance summaries.
Maintain and update Excel-based financial models, tracking spreadsheets, and reporting tools.
Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and monthly financial review processes.
Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality control checks to ensure reporting accuracy.
Organize and maintain financial records, supporting documentation, and audit-ready files.
Create charts, dashboards, and presentations to communicate financial information to management.
Assist with inventory tracking, asset management, and operational reporting activities.
Collaborate with finance, accounting, and operations teams to gather and analyze business information.
Support ad hoc financial analysis projects and process improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, PivotTables, XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and data analysis functions.
Understanding of financial statements, budgeting principles, and basic financial analysis concepts.
Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Internship or professional experience in finance, accounting, banking, or business operations.
Familiarity with financial reporting and business performance metrics.
Experience using Power BI or other reporting and visualization tools.
Bloomberg Market Concepts (BMC) certification or similar financial training.
Knowledge of accounting principles and financial statement analysis.
