About the Role

A Financial Services Firm based in New York City is seeking an experienced tax professional to join their team as a Senior Tax Director.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate tax considerations associated with acquisitions, dispositions, restructurings, and other investment activity
  • Conduct tax due diligence and identify potential exposures, structuring considerations, and planning opportunities
  • Review transaction agreements and other legal documents for relevant tax provisions
  • Advise internal stakeholders on the tax implications of proposed business and investment decisions
  • Assist with the structuring of investment vehicles, partnerships, and joint ventures
  • Support tax planning for investments involving domestic and international parties
  • Coordinate with accounting, finance, legal, and investment teams throughout the transaction process
  • Manage work performed by external accounting firms, legal counsel, and other professional advisors
  • Support ongoing tax compliance and reporting requirements across applicable entities
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and assess their potential business impact
  • Develop clear recommendations regarding complex tax matters for senior stakeholders
  • Lead multiple tax projects and transactions while providing guidance to junior team members
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen tax processes, documentation, and internal controls

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • CPA, JD, LLM, MST, MBA, or another relevant advanced qualification preferred
  • 8–12+ years of tax advisory, consulting, or transaction-related experience
  • Experience supporting real estate investments, transactions, partnerships, or similar asset-intensive businesses
  • Strong understanding of partnership taxation and transaction structuring
  • Familiarity with domestic and international tax considerations
  • Experience conducting tax due diligence and reviewing transaction-related agreements
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects from initial analysis through implementation
  • Experience coordinating with external accounting and legal advisors
