The organization specializes in processing steel bar products through a variety of value-added services, including grinding, straightening, heat treating, polishing, and custom cutting. Their products support a wide range of industries, including construction, agriculture, manufacturing, industrial equipment, and medical applications.
Responsibilities - Develop new business through cold calling, prospecting, and responding to inbound inquiries.
- Manage customer relationships and maintain a regular call schedule with existing accounts.
- Respond to phone, email, and website inquiries from prospective customers.
- Prepare accurate quotes by utilizing inventory information, production capabilities, and material sourcing resources.
- Gather and document customer specifications to create purchase orders and work orders.
- Follow up on quotations and sales opportunities to increase conversion rates.
- Communicate pricing, lead times, terms, and service offerings to customers.
- Collaborate closely with purchasing, customer service, and operations teams to meet customer requirements.
- Provide market intelligence, customer feedback, and sales activity updates to management.
- Support marketing initiatives and business development campaigns to identify and qualify new opportunities.
- Submit weekly sales activity reports.
Qualifications - Minimum of 2 years of manufacturing sales experience.
- Steel industry experience is required.
- Previous business-to-business (B2B) sales experience required.
- Experience selling steel bar products is preferred.
- Working knowledge of steel products and manufacturing processes.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent customer service and relationship-building abilities.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
- Goal-oriented with a strong drive to achieve sales objectives.
