About the Role

LHH Recruitment Solutions is partnering with a well established law firm to recruit an experienced IP legal assistant. This part of the team plays a key role in supporting attorneys with patent and trademark filings, docket management, and ongoing intellectual property tasks. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, proactive, and experienced in assisting with IP related documentation and workflow.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist attorneys with preparation and filing of patent and trademark applications
  • Maintain accurate docket entries and monitor deadlines for domestic and international IP matters
  • Organize and maintain IP files including correspondence, filings, and supporting documents
  • Coordinate communication with the United States Patent and Trademark Office and foreign associates
  • Prepare reporting letters, status updates, and client correspondence
  • Assist with billing tasks, time entry, and administrative support for the IP team
  • Conduct basic research related to patent and trademark matters
  • Manage document formatting, proofreading, and quality control for IP filings
  • Support attorneys with scheduling, coordination, and general office administration
Qualifications:
  • Prior experience working as an IP legal assistant or legal secretary in a law firm or corporate legal department for at least 7 years
  • Strong understanding of patent and trademark processes and USPTO filing requirements
  • Experience with IP docketing systems and document management software
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal software tools
  • Professionalism, discretion, and strong client service skills

Benefits:

Pay Details: $80,000.00 to $90,000.00 per year
