Junior Accountant LHH is seeking a motivated accounting professional to join its finance team. This position will work closely with accounting leadership and cross-functional teams to maintain accurate financial records and support ongoing business operations. This position is direct hire and will pay between $50K and $65K annually.
Responsibilities - Participate in monthly accounting close activities by ensuring financial transactions are recorded accurately and deadlines are met.
- Prepare and enter journal entries, including recurring transactions, accruals, and prepaid adjustments.
- Perform account reconciliations and research discrepancies to ensure the integrity of financial data.
- Analyze financial results and assist in explaining fluctuations compared to budgets, forecasts, and prior reporting periods.
- Reconcile bank accounts, balance sheet accounts, and other assigned general ledger accounts.
- Assist in the preparation of financial reports and supporting schedules for internal and external stakeholders.
- Maintain organized accounting records and supporting documentation in accordance with internal control standards.
- Coordinate with operational departments to gather, review, and validate information needed for accurate financial reporting.
- Support tracking and reporting related to capital projects and fixed asset activity.
- Assist with cash management responsibilities, including monitoring balances and processing funding requests.
- Contribute to annual budgeting and forecasting efforts.
- Provide assistance during audits and respond to requests from accounting leadership.
- Recommend and support process improvements that enhance efficiency and strengthen financial controls.
Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- 1+ years of accounting experience, including exposure to reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close responsibilities.
- Understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting concepts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience working within an ERP, accounting, or financial management system is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team environment.
- Eagerness to learn and develop professionally within a growing accounting function.
