We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join the engineering team in Sarasota, FL. This position will support both
new product development and sustaining engineering for mobility and lift products.
The Mechanical Engineer will be involved throughout the entire product lifecycle, from
initial concept and mechanical design through prototyping, testing, sourcing, costing, and production launch. This is a hands-on opportunity for an engineer who enjoys product development and working closely with manufacturing and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities - Develop and improve mechanical and electromechanical systems for lift and mobility products
- Support new product development from initial concept through production launch
- Create, modify, and review detailed mechanical engineering drawings
- Develop and evaluate new product designs using CAD
- Build, review, and test product prototypes
- Perform product testing and support design verification and validation activities
- Troubleshoot existing product and design issues and develop engineering solutions
- Review designs for manufacturability and production requirements
- Support component selection, sourcing, and supplier activities
- Assist with product cost analysis and cost-reduction initiatives
- Maintain engineering documentation, bills of materials, drawings, and product specifications
- Work with Manufacturing to transition designs into production
- Partner with Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, and other Engineering teams throughout the product lifecycle
- Support compliance and product testing requirements
- Participate in root cause investigations and continuous improvement initiatives
- Provide technical support for existing products and help identify opportunities for product improvements
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from an ABET-accredited engineering program
- Approximately 2+ years of engineering experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Experience with mechanical product design and development
- Experience using CAD software
- Ability to take a design from concept through completion
- Experience with product testing and prototyping
- Strong technical drawing experience
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and product manufacturability
- Strong planning, organization, and project management skills
- Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional environment
Pay Details: $65,000.00 to $85,000.00 per year
