The Opportunity
You will serve as a premier field leader directing complex civil and heavy industrial projects from site earthwork through structural concrete placement. This position gives you the operational leadership to drive site execution, schedule crews, and manage subcontractors for high-stakes infrastructure builds. You will work within a supportive construction company that rewards performance, values field authority, and provides strong financial growth.
Moltz currently has a particular interest in superintendents with raw-water pumping plant, water-treatment or wastewater-treatment construction experience. The company has a substantial Colorado project backlog and prefers to bring strong superintendents aboard proactively, integrate them into an adequately staffed project and learn their capabilities before placing them in full control of a future project.
Moltz Constructors supports traveling crews with per diem/subsistence and project-based lodging arrangements, which may include campers, shared housing or hotels depending on the assignment. Schedules vary by project, with the company working to provide regular opportunities for employees to return home.
How You Will Make an Impact:
- Direct daily field operations, site crews, and subcontractors to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.
- Develop progressive forward-looking work plans in close coordination with Project Managers and Project Engineers.
- Oversee comprehensive site operations spanning bulk earthwork, underground utilities, rebar placement, and structural concrete formwork.
- Manage manpower, site equipment, and construction materials efficiently to keep production schedules on track.
- Review engineered drawings and specifications to guarantee job site quality, precision, and plan compliance.
- Maintain precise daily field documentation, including progress updates, timesheets, and site safety reports.
- Foster a Safety-First environment where team collaboration, clear communication, and accountability drive success.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Comprehensive hands-on experience across all civil sectors, including earthwork, underground utilities, concrete formwork, rebar, and placement.
- Demonstrated ability to run multi-phase heavy industrial construction sites, schedule project activities, and direct subcontractors.
- Strong blueprint reading skills and the ability to interpret engineered structural and civil specifications.
- Excellent organizational and communication skills necessary to maintain thorough site documentation.
- Proven leadership ability to foster site safety compliance and maintain field crew efficiency.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
- 6+ years of field leadership as a Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, General Foreman or comparable heavy-civil field leader.
- Water treatment, wastewater treatment, raw-water pumping plant or pump-station construction experience strongly preferred for the immediate priority opening.
- Background progressing through a craft or foreman position into field leadership.
- Experience with self-performing contractors.
- Colorado heavy-civil experience.
- Dam/reservoir or rugged mountain-project experience.
- High School Diploma or GED.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Highly competitive base salary with performance-based bonus opportunities.
- 401(k) retirement savings program with generous employer matching.
- Comprehensive medical insurance coverage.
- Paid time off covering company holidays, vacation days, and sick leave.
- Access to company vehicles or vehicle allowances for site operational needs.
