The Opportunity
You will serve as a skilled technical expert executing fabrication, welding, and structural metal repairs across multi-family and commercial properties. This role allows you to apply your welding craftsmanship on diverse service and renovation projects while working within a supportive field operations team. You will enjoy the autonomy to solve complex fabrication challenges on-site while building a long-term career with a company that recognizes your hard work.
How You Will Make an Impact
- Read and interpret blueprints, shop drawings, and project specifications to verify correct product dimensions.
- Fabricate, fit, weld, and assemble structural components, including apartment stairs, railings, fencing, and gates.
- Execute MIG, TIG, FCAW, and SMAW welding processes on steel, aluminum, and stainless steel materials.
- Perform precise plasma cutting, surface grinding, sanding, and metal preparation to ensure specified finishes.
- Conduct quality control inspections to ensure all completed welds strictly align with AWS codes and client standards.
- Coordinate directly with on-site Construction Superintendents and trade partners to organize workflow.
- Maintain strict adherence to workplace safety protocols while keeping tools and field work areas organized.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on welding and metal fabrication experience.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Current AWS D1.1 qualification for SMAW (Stick) or FCAW (Flux-Cored MIG) welding.
- Demonstrated proficiency in MIG welding across aluminum, mild steel, and stainless steel.
- Possession and maintenance of personal basic hand tools required for daily fabrication work.
- Proven ability to perform physical labor, including standing for 8 hours and lifting up to 70 pounds.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Previous experience performing metal repairs on multi-family apartment communities, stairways, and railings.
- Advanced knowledge of metal fabrication machinery, plasma cutting, rigging, and soldering techniques.
