The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and completion of commercial construction projects — ensuring they are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. The PM serves as the central leader connecting owners, architects, engineers, and field teams, fostering an environment of collaboration, transparency, and expert communication.
The ideal candidate is a proactive problem-solver, a skilled communicator, and a strategic planner who can anticipate challenges and keep teams aligned toward successful project delivery.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Collaboration

Lead all aspects of project execution from preconstruction through closeout.

Cultivate a culture of teamwork, respect, and open communication with clients, trade partners, and internal teams.

Partner closely with the Superintendent to manage field operations, schedule performance, and site logistics.

Conduct regular project meetings with clear documentation and follow-through on action items.

Serve as the primary point of contact for the client, ensuring expectations are clearly communicated and met.
Scheduling & Planning

Develop, maintain, and drive the master project schedule in coordination with field leadership and subcontractors.

Monitor schedule progress and proactively implement strategies to overcome delays or resource constraints.

Align procurement, manpower, and subcontractor activities with critical path milestones.

Review and validate subcontractor schedules to ensure they support overall project goals.
Financial & Contract Management

Manage all project financials including budgets, forecasts, pay applications, and cost tracking.

Negotiate, issue, and manage subcontracts and purchase orders in alignment with project requirements.

Review and process change orders, ensuring accurate cost and schedule impact assessments.

Maintain transparency in reporting project financial status to leadership and stakeholders.
Communication & Documentation

Promote clear, proactive, and honest communication among all project participants.

Oversee and maintain all project documentation, including RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, and correspondence.

Utilize project management software (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam) to track progress and documentation.

Ensure decisions and changes are properly documented and communicated to all relevant parties.
Quality & Safety Oversight

Support and enforce jobsite safety practices in collaboration with the Superintendent and Safety Manager.

Ensure all work meets company and client quality standards.

Coordinate with design teams and consultants to resolve constructability or design issues efficiently.

Oversee project closeout activities, including punch lists, as-built documentation, and final turnover.
Team Development & Mentorship

Mentor Project Engineers and Assistant Project Managers, fostering growth and leadership development.

Encourage collaboration between field and office teams to strengthen project delivery.

Model integrity, accountability, and transparent leadership in all aspects of project management.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field, or 5+ years of progressive experience in commercial construction, with at least 3 years in a Project Engineer role.

Proven track record of delivering projects on schedule and within budget.

Exceptional communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.

Strong understanding of construction means and methods, contracts, and project financials.

Proficiency with project management and scheduling software (Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, Excel, etc.).
