Intern Passive Safety Simulation High-Voltage Batteries
We, the BMW Group, focus on passive safety for high-voltage batteries in electric vehicles. Our simulation experts develop and validate next-generation vehicles virtually. Join our interdisciplinary team of materials and simulation specialists and help ensure that our new electric vehicles meet the highest crash safety requirements.
What awaits you? You will support advanced material testing methods for high-voltage battery components. Furthermore, you help apply modern analysis methods such as computed tomography, digital volume correlation, and data analysis. In addition, you contribute to the design and setup of a CT-compatible test apparatus. Moreover, you assist with sensor integration and basic mechatronic aspects of the test setup. You will also support experiment-simulation correlation for improved material understanding. Additionally, you gain insights into high-voltage battery development in testing and simulation.
What should you bring along? Studies in mechanical engineering, materials science, mechatronics, physics, data science or a related field. Sound knowledge of mechatronic systems such as sensors, actuators, and signal chains is an advantage. Interest in experimental mechanics and simulation. Programming skills in Python or MATLAB. Hands-on mindset and motivation to explore new testing approaches. Very good English skills; proficiency in German is a plus.
