About the Role
Electrical Engineer II
Contract Length: 1-Year Contract (with potential for extension) Location: Greensburg, PA / Akron, OH / Reading, PA Work Setup: Remote - Candidates must be located near one of the listed office locations for occasional site visits)
Join a collaborative engineering team supporting critical communications infrastructure for a leading utility organization. As an Electrical Engineer II, you'll help design, maintain, and improve communication systems that support essential field operations while contributing to high-impact infrastructure modernization projects.
Electrical Engineer II Responsibilities
Design, implement, and support RF communication systems, leased line services, network circuits, and field communication infrastructure.
Support the Field Area Network Asset Replacement Program (ARP) through engineering design and communications planning.
Participate in communications technology installations, upgrades, testing, and system enhancements.
Ensure compliance with engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and change management procedures.
Manage project scope, schedules, and assigned deliverables while coordinating with cross-functional teams.
Maintain technical documentation, engineering drawings, and network records using document management systems and GIS platforms.
Support communications infrastructure including DC power systems, backup generators, batteries, HVAC, and environmental systems.
Develop and maintain engineering procedures, standards, and technical documentation.
Electrical Engineer II Qualifications
Required
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Technology, Telecommunications, Networking, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
3–6 years of professional engineering experience.
Experience supporting communication networks, circuit engineering, or telecommunications infrastructure.
Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Adobe Acrobat.
Ability to manage multiple projects while collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
Preferred
Experience with RF communications and wireless or fiber transport systems.
Familiarity with RTUs, routers, switches, reclosers, SCADA, and telephony systems.
Knowledge of DMMs, spectrum analyzers, antenna analyzers, and RF wattmeters.
Experience with FileNet Content Navigator or similar document management platforms.
Understanding of AC/DC power systems, generators, batteries, HVAC, GIS, AutoCAD, and project management tools.
