We are seeking an experienced
Temporary Controller to provide immediate leadership and stability during a transition period. This role will oversee the accounting function, ensure accurate financial reporting, and support critical close, audit, and process improvement activities.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, able to step in quickly, and comfortable working in dynamic or transitional environments.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee all day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, AP/AR, and financial reporting
- Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Prepare and review financial statements to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Ensure adherence to GAAP and internal accounting policies
- Manage account reconciliations and resolve complex discrepancies
- Support or lead audit preparation and coordinate with external auditors
- Maintain and strengthen internal controls and compliance processes
- Monitor cash flow and support forecasting and budgeting activities
- Provide leadership, guidance, and oversight to accounting staff
- Identify process improvements and implement efficiencies
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Proven experience managing the close process and financial statements
- Experience with ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, or similar)
- Advanced Excel skills
Skills & Competencies- Strong leadership and team management capabilities
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to quickly assess processes and implement improvements
Preferred Qualifications- CPA strongly preferred
- Experience in a transitional, turnaround, or high-growth environment
- Prior experience in a contract or interim role
Pay Details: $55.00 to $100.00 per hour
