Carmel, Indiana area to identify a skilled
Staff Accountant for a long-term contract opportunity. This role is ideal for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment, thrives on problem-solving, and takes pride in maintaining accurate financial records. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in supporting month-end close activities, account reconciliations, financial reporting, and day-to-day accounting operations.

Key Responsibilities- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger
- Perform monthly bank, balance sheet, and account reconciliations
- Assist with month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes
- Analyze financial transactions and investigate discrepancies
- Maintain accurate accounting records and supporting documentation
- Prepare and review financial reports for management
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as needed
- Assist with fixed asset accounting and depreciation schedules
- Help ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and accounting standards
- Collaborate with finance and operational teams to improve accounting processes
- Participate in audits and provide requested documentation
- Assist with special projects and ad hoc reporting requests
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
- 3+ years of accounting experience in a Staff Accountant, Accounting Analyst, or similar role
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting
- Experience with account reconciliations and month-end close activities
- Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables and VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs
- Experience working with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar platforms preferred
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred Experience- Experience working in a corporate accounting environment
- Exposure to financial statement preparation and analysis
- Previous experience supporting audits
- Experience identifying process improvements and efficiencies
