LHH is assisting a respected civil litigation law firm in its search for a Legal Assistant to support a busy litigation practice in Phoenix, Arizona. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career legal professional looking to build a long-term career in civil litigation while working alongside experienced attorneys and legal staff in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
Position Overview
The Legal Assistant will provide day-to-day support to attorneys handling a variety of civil litigation matters. This role offers exposure to all phases of the litigation process and is ideal for a detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced law firm setting.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Preparing, formatting, and proofreading legal documents, pleadings, and correspondence
  • Filing and serving court documents in state and federal courts
  • Managing attorney calendars, deadlines, and case schedules
  • Organizing and maintaining electronic and physical case files
  • Coordinating depositions, hearings, mediations, and client meetings
  • Communicating with clients, court personnel, opposing counsel, and vendors
  • Assisting with discovery requests, document production, and trial preparation
  • Entering attorney time and providing general administrative support as needed

Compensation & Benefits
Base Salary: $50,000 - $75,000 annually, commensurate with experience

Candidate Requirements
  • 1+ years of legal assistant experience, preferably supporting civil litigation practices
  • Familiarity with court filing procedures and litigation deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and legal case management software
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment
  • Experience with e-filing in Arizona courts is a plus
