About the Role

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director, Capture Management based in the United States.

This role is a senior strategic pursuit leadership position focused on driving growth across Aerospace, Defense, and other safety-critical technology markets. You will lead high-value capture efforts from early qualification through proposal submission and contract award, shaping win strategies that influence how advanced software solutions are positioned to government and enterprise customers. The role blends commercial strategy, technical storytelling, and deep knowledge of government acquisition processes. You will collaborate closely with Sales, Engineering, Product, and Executive Leadership to develop competitive strategies and compelling customer-facing narratives. A key part of the role involves managing complex, multi-stakeholder pursuits while aligning technical capabilities with mission-critical customer needs. This is a highly visible position where your work directly impacts win rates, pipeline growth, and long-term strategic success.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead end-to-end capture efforts for strategic opportunities, from qualification through contract award.
  • Develop and execute capture strategies, win themes, competitive assessments, and stakeholder engagement plans.
  • Conduct market, customer, and program research to identify funding sources, acquisition paths, and competitive positioning.
  • Drive teaming strategies with primes, integrators, OEMs, and channel partners to strengthen pursuit competitiveness.
  • Lead full proposal lifecycle management, including kickoff, compliance tracking, color reviews, and final submission.
  • Create proposal structures, compliance matrices, schedules, and reusable content frameworks.
  • Write and refine executive summaries, technical narratives, and customer value propositions.
  • Translate complex software and technical capabilities into clear customer-focused benefits and discriminators.
  • Support government contracting compliance, including FAR, DFARS, and related regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Engineering, Product, Marketing, and Legal teams throughout pursuits.
  • Provide executive leadership with updates, risk assessments, and pursuit recommendations.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in capture management, proposal management, business development, or strategic pursuits.
  • Proven success winning complex opportunities, ideally exceeding $1M in value.
  • Strong understanding of U.S. government acquisition processes, including FAR and DFARS frameworks.
  • Experience working within Aerospace, Defense, Government Technology, or regulated markets.
  • Exceptional writing, editing, and executive communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to translate software or engineering solutions into customer value.
  • Experience using proposal and CRM tools such as SharePoint, Microsoft 365, Salesforce, or GovWin.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent pursuits while maintaining high attention to detail.
  • Preferred experience with defense standards (e.g., MOSA, FACE, NIST SP 800-171, RMF, DO-178C).
  • Security clearance eligibility or active U.S. clearance is a plus.
Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation with base salary and performance-based incentives
  • Low-cost medical, dental, and vision insurance options
  • 401(k) retirement plan with generous employer match
  • Paid time off and company holidays
  • Remote work flexibility depending on role requirements
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP) support services
  • Strong career development and professional growth opportunities
  • Exposure to high-impact, mission-critical defense and aerospace programs
  • Inclusive and equal-opportunity work environment
