A well-established and growing commercial real estate organization is seeking an experienced
Director of Property Management to provide operational leadership across a portfolio of retail assets. This is a highly visible leadership position responsible for driving operational excellence, mentoring property management teams, supporting strategic initiatives, and optimizing property performance.
This role is based in Charlotte, NC. Relocation assistance may be available for highly qualified candidates.
Key Responsibilities- Provide leadership and operational oversight across a commercial real estate portfolio
- Mentor and develop property management professionals while promoting best practices and consistency
- Support budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and financial performance initiatives
- Drive tenant satisfaction and enhance overall property operations
- Lead capital improvement planning and project execution efforts
- Conduct property inspections and ensure adherence to operational standards
- Partner with internal stakeholders across operations, construction, leasing, and finance
- Oversee vendor performance, contract compliance, and service delivery
- Assist with strategic planning and portfolio performance initiatives
Required Qualifications- 5+ years of progressive commercial property management experience
- Prior leadership experience managing teams and/or mentoring property professionals
- Experience managing multiple commercial properties within a retail portfolio
- Strong financial acumen, including:
- Budget management
- CAM reconciliations
- NOI performance analysis
- Capital project oversight
- Strong vendor management and contract negotiation experience
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Qualifications- Experience working within a REIT (Real Estate Investment Trust) environment
- Grocery-anchored shopping center experience strongly preferred
- Professional designations such as CPM, RPA, or similar certifications
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Experience driving operational improvements across multiple locations or regions
