Accountabilities In this role, you will manage day-to-day accounting operations while supporting financial reporting, compliance, and process improvement initiatives. - Manage core finance and accounting operations, including AP, AR, billing, collections, and reconciliations
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes
- Prepare financial statements, MIS reports, schedules, and supporting documentation
- Maintain compliance with US GAAP standards across accounting activities
- Assist with SaaS-specific accounting processes, including revenue recognition, deferred revenue, accruals, and prepaid expenses
- Support audits, compliance reviews, and financial documentation requirements
- Collaborate cross-functionally with HR, payroll, operations, and business teams
- Assist in finance projects, reporting enhancements, and process improvement initiatives
Requirements The ideal candidate has strong hands-on accounting experience, particularly in SaaS or US-based startup environments. You are highly detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced setting.
- Bachelor's degree in Commerce (B.Com/M.Com) or equivalent qualification; CA/CMA (semi-qualified or qualified) preferred
- 4-6 years of finance and accounting experience
- 2-3 years of experience in SaaS or software industry accounting required
- Strong experience with AP, AR, GL, reconciliations, and month-end close processes
- Solid understanding of US GAAP and startup financial reporting requirements
- Familiarity with SaaS accounting concepts such as revenue recognition, deferred revenue, and subscription billing (ASC 606 preferred)
- Proficiency in Excel and hands-on experience with ERPs such as QuickBooks, Zoho, Xero, or similar systems
- Strong ownership mindset with ability to manage multiple priorities independently
- Excellent attention to detail, communication, and stakeholder coordination skills
- Problem-solving attitude with a willingness to improve processes and build structure
