Staff AccountantLocation: Philadelphia, PA 19154 (Onsite)
Compensation: $75,000 - $80,000
LHH Recruitment Solutions has partnered with a reputable organization in search of a Staff Accountant to join its corporate accounting team. This opportunity is ideal for an experienced Staff Accountant or an individual recently promoted into a Senior Accountant role who is looking to expand their responsibilities and gain exposure to a variety of corporate accounting functions. The organization offers a collaborative culture and strong potential for long-term professional growth.
Responsibilities- Prepare journal entries including accruals, prepaids, and account reclassifications
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities
- Perform freight accounting, including expense analysis, accruals, reconciliations, and reporting
- Manage fixed asset accounting, including additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation
- Ensure compliance with capitalization policies and procedures
- Prepare monthly account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies
- Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger
- Analyze balance sheet and income statement accounts and explain significant variances
- Assist with the preparation of financial reports and supporting schedules
- Support multi-entity accounting and consolidation activities
- Collaborate with operations, logistics, tax, and other business partners to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Assist with external audit requests and year-end reporting requirements
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiencies
- Provide financial analysis and reporting to support business decision-making
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 2-5+ years of accounting experience
- Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and financial reporting
- Experience participating in month-end close activities
- Fixed asset accounting experience preferred
- Experience with freight, inventory, or distribution accounting is a plus
- Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs/XLOOKUPs, and data analysis
- Experience working with ERP systems
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
