The Opportunity:
You will take command of complex commercial and industrial mechanical construction projects for a premier union contractor. This position empowers you to drive project profitability, streamline operations, and lead talented teams to deliver high-stakes mechanical systems. You will play a vital role in fueling company growth while advancing your own executive career path in a collaborative environment.
How You Will Make an Impact:
- Direct full project lifecycles for major mechanical, piping, and HVAC installations from preconstruction through closeout.
- Manage multi-million dollar project budgets, buyout schedules, change orders, and financial forecasting to maximize margins.
- Collaborate closely with field leadership, trade superintendents, and union tradespeople to ensure on-time, safe execution.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with general contractors, facility owners, and key project stakeholders.
- Optimize project workflow, documentation, and cash flow using advanced construction management tools.
- Mitigate project risks proactively by enforcing strict job site safety standards and contractual compliance.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of dedicated project management experience in mechanical construction.
- At least 10 years of total hands-on and administrative experience in the mechanical/piping field.
- Deep knowledge of commercial, industrial, and federal mechanical systems, piping, and HVAC workflows.
- Proven track record of managing project budgets, resource allocations, and operational forecasting.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills needed for managing union trade dynamics and client relations.
Preferred Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or Business Administration.
- Professional background including completion of a Pipefitter apprenticeship program to Journeyman status.
- Demonstrated experience utilizing construction software platforms such as Procore or enterprise ERP systems.
