About the Role

Environment Specialist

At GE Vernova, we're building the infrastructure that powers a cleaner world — and we need people on the ground who care deeply about doing that safely and responsibly. As an Environment Specialist, you'll be the environmental conscience of a live construction and commissioning site in Taoyuan. Your work will directly protect the people around you, the communities nearby, and the regulatory standing of the project. If you believe that environmental stewardship and project delivery go hand in hand — this role is for you.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary environmental point of contact for the site team, delivering day-to-day environmental management and practical support across the construction and commissioning project.
  • Develop and maintain the site's Environmental Plan(s) — covering the Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) Plan, Environmental Protection Plan (EPP), and Emergency Response Plan (ERP) — ensuring alignment with GE Vernova standards, contractual obligations, and local regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee the full cycle of environmental management: policy implementation, training delivery, risk assessment, site inspections, auditing, and incident analysis.
  • Identify and escalate non-compliance in real time — stepping in whenever site activities fall short of established environmental or risk assessment requirements.
  • Track applicable legal requirements, monitor plan effectiveness, and provide timely updates to site management on emerging trends, legal exposure, and environmental concerns
  • Drive continuous improvement by contributing environmental feedback to the site team and translating industry trends into practical, on-the-ground recommendations.
What We're Looking For

You are someone who combines technical environmental knowledge with a hands-on, collaborative approach — comfortable working across teams, cultures, and complexity.

Required

  • A degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering — or equivalent practical experience in a construction or environmental compliance setting
  • Occupational Waste Disposal Class B () or above issued by a recognized Taiwan authority.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Willingness to work onsite in Taoyuan on a full-time basis, including overtime when project demands require
  • Valid Taiwan motorcycle and car driver's license

Preferred

  • Hands-on experience with Permit to Work (PTW) and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) management systems.
  • Familiarity with Taiwan and broader Asian workplace culture and working practices.
  • Strong interpersonal skills — comfortable communicating with people across all levels of an organization, from site operatives to senior management
Why GE Vernova

GE Vernova employees rise to the challenge of building a world that works. We offer varied, competitive benefits designed to reward high performers and support your personal and family wellbeing. We invest in your growth through continued on-the-job learning and development — because your career matters as much as the work you deliver.
