A well-established and highly respected law firm is seeking an experienced Litigation Legal Assistant to support a busy litigation practice in its Tampa office. This role is ideal for a proactive professional who excels at managing deadlines, coordinating complex litigation matters, and providing exceptional support to attorneys and clients.
The firm has a strong preference for candidates with construction defect litigation experience, but will also consider individuals with a solid background in insurance defense litigation.
What You'll Do- Support attorneys throughout all phases of litigation.
- Prepare, revise, and proofread pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and legal documents.
- Manage court filings through Florida's e-filing system.
- Coordinate attorney calendars, hearings, mediations, depositions, and client meetings.
- Track deadlines and maintain litigation calendars.
- Organize case files and document management systems.
- Assist with trial preparation, exhibits, hearing notebooks, and mediation materials.
- Communicate professionally with clients, courts, experts, opposing counsel, and vendors.
What We're Looking For- 3+ years of litigation legal assistant experience in a law firm environment.
- Experience with construction defect litigation strongly preferred.
- Insurance defense litigation experience will also be considered.
- Knowledge of Florida court procedures and e-filing requirements.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and proofreading skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal technology platforms.
