LHH is currently seeking an experienced Insurance Defense / Medical Malpractice Paralegal for a respected law firm in the Tampa area. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with attorneys handling complex litigation matters while playing a key role in case management and trial preparation.
Responsibilities- Support attorneys in all phases of insurance defense and medical malpractice litigation
- Draft and prepare legal documents including pleadings, discovery, subpoenas, and correspondence
- Review, organize, and summarize medical records and other case-related documentation
- Coordinate depositions, hearings, mediations, expert witness schedules, and trial logistics
- Prepare chronologies, case summaries, and trial materials
- Manage litigation calendars and ensure compliance with court deadlines
- Communicate with clients, insurance carriers, opposing counsel, medical providers, and court personnel
Qualifications- Minimum of 3 years of paralegal experience in insurance defense, medical malpractice, or complex litigation
- Strong understanding of Florida state court procedures and litigation processes
- Experience handling and analyzing large volumes of medical records
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management systems
- Paralegal certificate or degree preferred
